International Safety Check Started at BelNPP

Experts from the European Commission and the European Nuclear Safety Regulators Group (ENSREG) arrived at the plant site as part of a partner review of the National Action Plan based on the results of stress tests conducted at BelNPP in 2016-2018.

The expert group consists of 9 people. These are representatives of Austria, Belgium, Great Britain, Hungary, Germany, Lithuania, Ukraine, Finland. The group is headed by Petteri Tiippana, Director General of the Center for Nuclear and Radiation Safety of Finland (STUK).

Experts will work at the BelNPP site on February 9-10. They will visit the plant’s facilities, get acquainted with materials that reflect information on the implementation of the activities of the national action plan based on the results of stress tests, and will also be able to ask questions to representatives of Gosatomnadzor, the Department of Nuclear Energy of the Ministry of Energy, a group of designers of ASE EC JSC and directly to specialists nuclear power plant.
