On August 29, 2019, the participants of the Belarusian nuclear insurance pool and RUE “Belarusian nuclear power plant” signed a contract of voluntary insurance of civil liability for nuclear damage arising from the implementation of activities on the use of nuclear energy of the Belarusian nuclear power plant with a liability limit of 150 million SDR.
The object of insurance under this contract is the property interests of the policyholder associated with the onset of his liability in the manner prescribed by the legislation of the Republic of Belarus and the international Treaty (Vienna Convention) on obligations arising in the implementation of activities on the use of nuclear energy, as a result of the occurrence of damage to life, health, property of other persons caused by a nuclear incident (including radiation accident).
